The Karo Tribe located in Africa, was the inspiration for this project, giving it a subtle twist resignifying recyclable items. In this case we used kitchen cling-wrap for the accessories, big turbant & dress. The Karo people paint themselves daily with coloured ochre, white chalk, yellow mineral rock, charcoal, and pulverized iron ore, all natural resources local to the area. The specific designs drawn on their bodies can change daily and vary in content. Karo people elaborate hairstyles and headdresses for themselves, signifying status, beauty, and bravery. The graphic design, style & typography was inspired by W magazine. Here's a brief example of how the final idea turned out.
